ContactsThe vignette is proof of payment of the road toll in Romania and is mandatory for all vehicles travelling on national roads. It is an electronic vignette, automatically verified by cameras based on the vehicle's licence plate number.
The price of the vignette varies depending on the vehicle type and the chosen validity period. You can opt for a short-term or long-term vignette, and the online calculator immediately shows you the exact cost, with no need to search for additional information.
What does Euro 0–6 mean?
The Euro standard shows how polluting the vehicle's engine is. The newer the standard, the cheaper the vignette: electric vehicles pay the least and Euro 0–3 vehicles pay the most. The standard is listed in the vehicle documents (registration certificate or certificate of conformity). As a rough guide for passenger cars, it can be estimated from the year of first registration:

The absence of a valid vignette may result in automatic fines.
Once the order is completed, the vignette becomes active and does not need to be printed.
Driving a passenger car on Romania's national roads without a valid vignette is punishable by a fine of approximately 100–200 EUR (500–1,000 RON). If paid within 15 days, you pay half the minimum — about 50 EUR (250 RON). The penalty is applied automatically by the CNAIR camera system based on the license plate number — including for vehicles with foreign license plates.
